Dear Santa...........
Nightly Dinner
"On Christmas Eve my parents always went to church at midnight to celebrate the birth of Jesus, as a little boy of 4 years old I was not allowed to go. I remember being woken up in the middle of the night, wearing a checkered dressing gown and in front of the beautiful copper 1950s gas stove I was hugged warm. When my parents came home from church, we all had a festive night supper with steak and sandwiches. It was a great festive reception, which I try to follow every year with an imitation of their tradition. Midnight mass and supper. With Covid-19 it will be difficult to celebrate supper at night alone without midnight masses.
We are probably going to watch a church service on television
and then have ZOOM dinner with my sister and brother-in-law.
Just the thought of our nightly dinner makes Christmas valuable."
I wish you all a Merry Christmas !
