Flower Market by Tanya Kishfy

The series draws from the floral economies and material cultures of Bangkok’s Pak Khlong Talat, where baskets of flowers circulate through everyday acts of labor, offering, and exchange. Handwoven metal forms reinterpret traditional basketry, supporting sculptural flowers that emerge as both adornment and object. Referencing Dok Rak and other flowers central to Thai ceremonial practice, the works engage with symbols of respect, continuity, and ritual use.
