Artist Inhye Kwon - Small Microbiota Series
The ‘Small Microbiota’ series was inspired by the microorganisms called slime molds living underground, which gather together and form a colony upon receiving chemical signals.
The white silver wire symbolizes pure life, the gold and copper symbolizes vitality
and the chemical signals they emit.

Artist Inhye Kwon  - Small Microbiota Series

I expressed the organic form created by the winding lines through the process of twisting and soldering the silver wires to connect them. Just like a single weak silver wire, the imperfect individual forms only form a harmonious form when they come together.
Maybe I am similar to them. I also live with various appearances and personalities inside me, and I form one connected world.

Artist Inhye Kwon - Flow Inner Cells Series

'Floating Inner Cell Series' metaphorically captures my inner world and complex emotions. Daily memories and feelingsrise like cells in an inner ocean, gathering and intertwining. Cells deep within me swim through an diverse emotions, moving as one evolving organism. Using chasing techniques and resin, I reveal these dynamic forms to express my changing emotions.

Artist Inhye Kwon - The Breath of a Cradle Series

I am fascinated by things that are invisible. I imagine a microscopic world too small to touch and too delicate to be fully captured by the human eye—an ecosystem sustained through mutual reliance. The world I create is a quiet garden, like a small pond, where different life forms,
each with their own role, intertwine and form a delicate balance.

Artist Inhye Kwon - New Creature Series
Inspired by microorganisms found in ponds, soil, and the sky, I observe their cooperative relationships and translate them into jewelry and objects. By recording the movements of each life form and their interactions from a microscopic perspective,
I construct my own imagined microbial garden.

Little Signal Series 2022- 2023
“Soft, billowing wisps of smoke rise.
Following the smoke back to its source,
we encounter a single life,
no bigger than a bean.

An unidentified yeast,
as if letting out a burp--
‘Urp—'
exhales smoke,
as though announcing its presence.

Holding an enormous cloud
inside its tiny body—"
